River Cocker, Cumbria

The River Cocker is located in the Lake District in Cumbria, England.
Flowing from its source at Buttermere Valley and Crummock Water, the
River Cocker passes through Lorton Vale and joins the River Derwent at
the town of Cockermouth. The river is prone to flooding and
Cockermouth suffered extensive damage in serious flooding in 2009. The
river is home to an array of species of fish including stone loach,
brown trout, eels, sea trout and salmon. As well as fishing, the area
provides the ideal location for walking and is very popular with
hikers.
