About Us

Information Britain has grown from very humble origins indeed. Its life began as www.heritageinternet.co.uk in 1994 with just 50 hotel pages - and to be very honest very little else. Our original clients though were amongst the best hotels in Great Britain (most still are - amongst the best and clients that is) and in the early days of the internet in the UK that seemed to help a great deal.

We changed to its current web address in late 1997. At that point 840 places to stay and attractions were featured with 2000 pages served. We now have 'direct' relationships with over 3000 hotels, bb's inns, self catering, shops, attractions, venues, tourist boards, restaurants etc etc, publish more than 1.5 million pages of British Information and are actively involved in all levels of the British Tourist Industry.

The site has not received funding or investment and proves that if you work hard enough (and ignore your family!) you can succeed. We are proud to have served over 295 million pages to 110 million unique visitors in the last 12 years
