Nestling in the heart of the Mease Valley almost midway between Burton on Trent and Birmingham in the rolling countryside is the picturesque village of Harlaston. All too often superlatives are over used – in the case of Harlaston this is simply not the case, the village has won the Best Kept Small Village in Staffordshire on a number of occasions. The village has the River Mease flowing through its centre and the area abounds with bridleways and footpaths providing easy access to the National Forest It is not just the surrounding countryside which offers an interesting diversion but the local architecture, The Manor House is a timber framed building originally constructed around 1540 whilst there is also The Homestead, Haselour Hall and St Matthew’s Church - part of which dates back to the 11th century. Harlaston with its pretty cottages and its picturesque location is an oasis in an otherwise hectic world and is well worth the time to visit to sample its beauty and hospitality.
