excellent park in a beautiful area good views only down fall shower and toilet block far away from tent area especial when you have young children who might need to go during the night,an other toilet block down the bottom end of the park would make a difference, but i will certainly be return a long with the 25 of us who came down this year,

Review of Cheddleton by Martin on July 14th, 2011
The Churnet Valley village of Cheddleton a few miles east of Stoke-on-Trent has made the most of its industrial heritage, with a preserved railway, its Flint Mill now a museum, and the Cauldon Canal offering some fine waterside (and a great pub).

Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

Review of Stoke-on-Trent by bryan brookes on June 20th, 2009
I am 78yrs old on 3rd July my father was. the rector of St. John's church Longton.I spent many of my younger days having a drink in "The Vine"off Wood Street. The people of Stoke on Trent i found had a sense of humour. I worked at Berryhill colliery in the surveying office after leaving school at St Josephs College trent vale. I remember the PMT utility buses during the war with wooden seats;steam trains echoing through the night over Longton bridge over shadowed by Harvey's chimney. I have so many memories that it wood take a book to fulfil them.....

Stone, Staffordshire

Review of Stone by Glynis Maguire on March 18th, 2007
A party of four attended La Dolce Vita for the first time and from the moment we stepped through the door we were greeted with fantastic hospitality. The food was unsurpassed, especially the really tasty starters. Everything was presented first class and we all had a wonderful evening. We look forward to visiting again in the very near future. Thankyou.

Uttoxeter, Staffordshire

Review of Uttoxeter by A Hopkins-Shirley on February 4th, 2010
To Mr Fountain As My family have lived in the area of Uttoxeter for over 1500 years we are proud of Uttoxeter and Alvelon-Alton Staffordshire. Keep up the good work as Uttoxeter is a ancient market town going back before the Roman times. Or at least Roman. As it tells you in its name. Uttox-eter. The eter such has Ches-ter. This proves it was a Roman town and ALL Roman Towns had markets. Our family were The Saxon Kings of Mercia. Also OUR Great extended Grand Father was the Earl of Derby also known as king charles the second of England. The original surname of the Earls of Derby was Ferrers now the surname of the Earl Ferrers today is Shirley through the female line. They the ones who re-granted the people of Uttoxeter the rights to hold markets for them to sell under the managment of the Town council. The council was NEVER GIVEN the right of FREEHOLD over the common lands where the markets were are held. That is facts which we have tried to bring out to the illegal closing and selling of the cattle market lands. This is why they have had so much trouble selling it because of the fact that our solicitor is the same solicitor who the council used in the selling of of those lands.Glandfield and Crudis in Carter street. They were sent documents and have been taken documents with my brother and sisters. Would not look at them when they were handling our parents estate when they died. I ask, ?Total Conflict of interest and misappropriation of public funds ?EH. Keep the markets going and good luck. Albert Hopkins Shirley.

Whittington, Staffordshire

Review of Whittington by philip wood on June 22nd, 2006
The Bell Inn, is a great old pub dating back to 1832, when many pubs were able to start in business, a licence could be bought for £2 and anyone could sell ale to the public in their own house, this is how the term "Public House" originated. The Bell Inn has a great atmosphere, has many old timbers exposed, they serve Bass, and Pedigree, and also guest beers, fresh home cooked meals are also available, there is a front patio area, facing onto Main Street, there is also a large garden area with more seating spaced around, a childrens play area is also in the garden and the whole area is fenced to prevent small children running away. I live 50 yards away, Aren't I lucky? Phil.
