Kyleakin is a picturesque Hebridean village in the Isle Of Skye in Scotland, dating back many centuries, arranged around a delightful harbour. It’s linked to the mainland at Kyle of Lochalsh by the Skye Bridge. Known as the gateway to Skye, it was once the stopping point for paddle steamers, today sees colourful yachts, fishing, and pleasure boats mirrored in the water. For lovers of the great outdoors whether it’s fishing in the Lochs and Rivers, or taking a fascinating Sea Trip to experience the magical sight of Whales, Seals and Otters, what more could be wished for. Perhaps walking through dramatic scenery to the heather clad or snow capped Cuillin Mountain Range, or Beinn Na Caillich which rises over three thousand feet, or even Glen Arroch whose beauty will please the most discerning visitor. The memorable legacy is ready to be shared with a visit to Caisteal Maol whose evocative 10th Century ruins turn back the hands of time, or there is always The Bright Water Interpretation Centre, or take a trip to Eilean Ban Nature Reserve once the home of the Author Gavin Maxwell who wrote ’Ring Of Bright Water’, situated betwixt the mainland and Skye, treats visitors to a delightful hands on experience
