Isle of Skye Reports

Dunvegan, Isle of Skye

Review of Dunvegan by janice hope on September 9th, 2009
we visited Dunvegan Castle on 2/9/09 and paid £30 entrance fee. Thought it was a waste of money. we were in the castle aprox. 25 mins and apart from portraits there was very little to see and found the castle very tatty and it looked unkempt. We did encounter a lady in a kilt and twin set carrying a yorkshire terrier, we did smile at her but she just glared back and looked at us as if she had something nasty on the bottom of her shoe. If this is the sort of welcome visitors can expect dont bother people, save your money

Staffin, Isle of Skye

Review of Staffin by A MacLean on March 18th, 2007
Staffin Campsite is set in a beautiful part of Skye. The site is relatively quiet but extremely well kept. Prices are cheap but you pay for the scenery. Sunsets are a must. North Skye shows off unspoilt scenery. We made many walks using the CS as a base.

Waternish, Isle of Skye

Review of Waternish by JEAN ELLIN on October 14th, 2006
Where do I start.Waternish just takes your breath away. My husband and I have just fallen in LOVE with the place infact the whole of Skye.We have travelled all over the island and it is just amazing. The reason being was to get a good view of it all. We came to Skye this May and also again this September to be truthful we had fallen in love with the island before we even set foot we read quite abit about it and thought WOW this is the place we would like to settle and live for the rest of our lives. We stayed in Waternish in September, you know when you see a place it just feels right, like home,no more questions needed to be answered so much so we are in the process of buying some land so we can build a home.We love the views of Waternish, the people[hope you will love us too]the local pub[good foood] just all of the community. The sunsets just take your breath away, plus the stars at night, awesome.Plus how quiet it is.I could go on and on singing it's praising. We just can not wait to be in Waternish all the time.
