Marlow is an historic Market town dating back to Saxon times set on the banks of the River Thames, in Buckinghamshire. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, and the Chiltern Hills, this elegant town is full of architectural wonders spanning the pages of history, a generous peppering of houses, and cottages dating back centuries, and St Peter Street where the Old Parsonage, and Deanery hails from the 14th Century, nearby the church of All Saints has an impressive spire that rises 170' skywards, and the graceful Georgian architecture lines the High Street where shops and interesting boutiques wait to be explored. Riverside walks along the Thames Tow Path shares enchanting scenery and wildlife, or climb aboard a boat trip to historical Windsor. Famed for nimble fingers and the production of intricate lace, and the engineering masterpiece of it's picturesque Suspension Bridge designed by William Tierney Clark in 1832, it spans the river where a colourful Regatta is held in June, and, if visitors time it right the ancient art of Swan Upping may be seen where the swans have been counted since Medieval times for the Sovereign. Marlow delights visitors, and has inspired great literary writers from Shelley, and his wife who wrote Frankenstein, and even the magical works of T.S. Eliott, all of whom lived here.
