Nestled on the Fylde Coast to the south east of the spectacular Morecambe Bay SSSI , Wyre’s two seaside resorts of Fleetwood and Cleveleys have retained that traditional charm, the stuff of nostalgic walks through the surf and penny slot machines where trams clatter their way along the lovely promenade – peaceful out of season and bustling throughout the summer. Fleetwood, with its Markets, Museums, the Marine Hall theatre and Gardens and its lovely long beach. Cleveleys, with its busy streetslined with shops, Kiddies Corner and promenade – all sharing space on the very edge of the English coastline. Next stop westwards …the Isle of Man! The town of Fleetwood is famous throughout the world for its fishing industry and Fisherman’s Friends Lozenges is now know as the ‘capital of value’ and if it’s bargains you are on the lookout for, then Cleveleys really is a place to tug at the purse strings. Britain has miles and miles of coastline, so, roll up your trousers, take off your shoes and feel the sand between your toes. Wyre’s coast really is the most friendly. Population 28,000
