The village of Ballyvoy is an ideal retreat, tucked away in the sensational scenery of Country Antrim while also enjoying the benefits of Ballycastle, a charming seaside town only a couple of miles away. From Ballyvoy, drivers may easily explore the sights of the North Antrim Coast - the Giant's Causeway, the ruined castles, and the power of the Atlantic as it rushes into ancient, majestic cliffs and rocky bays. In the opposite direction, the famous, narrow coast road winds its way round miles of picturesque coves, beaches and headlands at the foot of steep hillsides that are thrown into sharp relief by the lush green Glens of Antrim. Some motorists and cyclists might brave the precipitous but unforgettable scenic route from Ballyvoy to Cushendun, while more grounded sightseers may prefer a drive along the A2, perhaps to Ballypatrick Forest. Filled with mature trees, the forest offers wonderful views of the sea and the surrounding countryside, and it can be travelled both by car and on foot, past streams, ancient monuments, deer lawns and wildlife ponds. In Ballyvoy itself, visitors can eat, drink and be merry at Hunters Bar, which lays on regular live music and a family menu mainly featuring local produce.
