Dunvalanrees licensed restaurant use of local sea food and farm produce has been recognised by the award of an AA Rosette and a Silver EatScotland award and the restaurant is featured in the Good Food Guide. Dunvalanree is a founding member of the SeaFood Trail as featured on TV. Dunvalanree was built in 1938 and was upgraded in 1999 to four star. Most rooms, all individually decorated, enjoy panoramic sea views. Standing in delightful gardens on the edge of Port Righ Bay, Dunvalanree enjoys splendid views over Kilbrannan Sound, to the Isle of Arran, and around Carradale Bay and Forest. Listen ... to the sea gently lapping on the overlooked beach. The most popular pastime amongst visitors to Port Righ is walking, and perhaps golf. Fortunately as there are so many choices, from Carradale Bay to the wind farm, walkers are likely to find it very quiet. Dunvalanree has a series of walks based at Port Righ. Except on match days the golf course is also very peaceful. After dinner enjoy a Springbank whisky and fall asleep to the sound of the sea.
