The village of Harvington lies nestling in the Vale of Evesham just to the north of Twyford on the Evesham Road surrounded by rolling countryside. The village is approximately half a mile west of the River Avon and is at the northern most end of the Cotswolds. For those who wish to explore the surrounding countryside this is an ideal location, with castles at Warwick, Kenilworth and Sudeley or take time to appreciate the architecture of the many cathedrals and churches that are around the area, indeed St James Church in Harvington dating back some 500 years is the only church in the Vale with a copper spire. There are Roman Villas and museums all worth visiting from this centrally placed location. If however you prefer to take a trip into the surrounding countryside you can soon find yourself in the Malvern Hills from where, on a clear day, you can see the mountains of Wales! On the other hand you may prefer to use Harvington as a base from which to visit the Bard’s home at Stratford on Avon which is around 14 miles away. Harvington though is more than just a tourist stop over – the local residents enjoy a wide variety of activities all of which would be expected from such a thriving community in such a picturesque location.
