The historic city of Canterbury has been a favourite with travellers since the time of Chaucer. The four star County Hotel was first licensed as a hotel in 1892. Its history however can be traced further back, thanks to the 12th century cellars and 15th century timbers in the public areas.
The County Hotel enjoys one of the finest locations in the city; right in the heart of the pedestrianised High Street and less than five minutes walk front the Cathedral. At the rear of the hotel, where the weary travellers once tethered their horses, there's car parking for sixty cars. The Tudor Bar is a perfect meeting point for guests, amidst the oak beams and traditional ambience of a bygone age. Award winning Sully's Restaurant is renowned for fine dining, and the Tearooms offer traditional old English cream teas during the day. A lighter Brasserie menu is available for guests and non-residents in the evening.
