This is quite simply the worst place to visit in Windermere. These people do not like tourists. The welcome is non existent the food is very poor, and if you have the audacity to complain that the food is luke warm and undercooked the staff tell you there is nothing wrong and because we had eaten some of it we could not have a refund! Two of the locals i spoke to said to me they do not eat there and recommended other places nearby. Another family also complained while we were there and the staff had a stand up row with them and then asked them to leave!

Called in for pub meal whilst on holiday. Pub was full, so went upstairs to restaurant where the meal is £2 dearer though same menu as bar meals. After a very long wait our roast dinners arrived. Veg uncooked and cold, stuffing cremated on outside but raw in middle, and chicken thighs - the cheapest cut of chicken complete with bone- not good value for £8.99 each. Adding insult to injury, a long hair was discovered resting across the overdone roast potatoes! We felt sorry for the waitress, who admitted it was embarrassing, and we got the impression ours wasn't the first complaint she'd had to deal with. To be fair, the price of one meal was knocked off our bill, but even so, very poor value for money. Will never return.

ordered and paid for a roast beef dinner. when served the vegetabies, were cold. the plate was hot and gravy steaming. the roast potatoes were black and burnt. we complained and were advised a new meal would be brought. the same plate was delivered, having been microwaved and additional gravy added. the presentation was poor and the same black potatoes. the beef was okay. the roast pots were not edible having been reheated too many times. the yorkshire pudding was burnt on the outside and runny and uncooked on the inside..not edible. my wife picked at the food but became upset at its quality and gave up. we broght the poor quality to tha attention of the chef, who was very upset having been criticized and threw his teeddy out and was quite rude. i asked to examine the raw york pud, he refused and the offending meal had dissappeared. no refund or partial offered just rudeness. there is not a lot more than i can add, i am retired in my sixties and appalled of this expirience...m.kilshaw
