we had a bar meal at Ducks in Kilspindie, Aberlady, where the food and service was light years ahead of others in the area

Good Points: The room was spacious and in a nice village location. Bad Points: The fittings in the hotel (except the TV) were old and tatty. General review: On arrival we were advised when breakfast was served and given directions to our room. The room contained everything I would expect but I had to call reception to find out where the iron was and there were no instructions on the phone in the room as to how to do this. The bathroom was fitted with a spa bath and an overhead shower, I tried to use the bath but the plug appeared to be broken and I was unable to get the water to stay in, the shower head was very dirty, however, worked. The towels were clean and there were plenty of them. The breakfast was excellent and was the highlight of the stay.
