Good Points: Staff were incredibly helpful and were always polite and approachable. Room was spotlessly clean and well presented. Location and parking were also very good. General review: Very pleasant stay in a very clean and well presented hotel.

booked for a xmas meal, good points food was nice and we had various amounts to eat as it was a buffet sort, bad points, started at 8pm finished at 11.30, i recommend if anyone books, ask for extended stay, rip off for the cost of 1000 quid plus. would not recommend for a night out. staff said music was too loud, yet i could barely hear it outside while smoking.

I was pleasantly suprpised by the quality of my stay at this hotel last week. I had a single room which although on the small side was adequate for my needs. Decor in corridor could be updated. My biggest problem was that I had to run hot water in morning for 7-8 minutes before it was hot enough for shower etc. I had two evening meals and both were very nice. Found staff hospitable and helpful. Overall my visit, on business, was a good one, value for money ( in comparison with other Birmingham hotelswho wanted to charge 3 times this for similar accommodation) and yes I would return if I could not find another hotel closer to the city centre. The Edgbaston is about 2.5 miles from my office but it was walk able with ease. Thanks. Overall mark 8/10

Good Points: Comfortable room, v.g. breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. Bad Points: Minor faults in room - defunct light bulb, broken rod to blinds. Major problem - hot water only available on one day despite running tap for long period. Stairway and lobby painting not finished. Car park locked on two nights; staff did not have key for access (between 11pm and midnight) General review: When booking, there was no indication that hotel was under major overhaul which could have affected our choice. However, we were not inconvenienced because of the work although the lounge was still suffering from a makeover!

Good Points: Clean. Ideal for my requirements for a single quiet overnight stay Bad Points: The decor of the room was a bit dated but I understand that this room is scheduled for refurbishment General review: The level of service, particularly the morning restaurant staff, was exceptionally polite and attentive. The owner/manager who had greeted me politely the night before was back and overseeing things the following morning at 8 am.
