Live in Otley and do actually go here quite often because it opens later. Food is good and one of the best pub food establishments in Otley. HOWEVER the beer is certainly not! Sometimes it is drinkable, othertimes not. Last time we went my boyfriend's beer was that bad we returned it, only to be told it must have been his aftershave! And they trued to charge us 75p for some tap water! Also stay away from shots - they keep the bottles under the bar lights so they are always warm! In short, come for the food not the beer!

Otley, is a town like no other, population of 15,000 and more than 25 pubs and clubs. In Otley Beer, and the quality of that beer is important. The Rose and Crown is just 100yds from The Junction, a famous CAMRA guide pub and less than 50yds from the soon to be Wetherspoons owned Bowling Green. by comparison, the quality of real ale served in the Rose is quite abysmal. at my last visit, I returned two pints of ale that was clearly off, despite asking the bar staff, which one had been served the most. Little wonder then, that the Rose had only 6 or 7 customers and the Junction was full to bursting on my teatime visit. come on Rose, back to basics. if you sell real ale, get it right. its not rocket science. sell good beer, and the customers tell their freinds. sell bad beer and the customers stay away
