Sadly we were very disappointed we had booked this place for 3 nights as a base to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary We booked a Standard PLUS chalet expecting it to be as shown in the information the company puts on line and in their brochure. The bathroom was awful, mould along the edge of the bath and along the floor. The toilet backed up when other people in our row of chalets used their toilets or showers The decor in the chalet was very tired not like the picture shown in advert the bed was rock hard and pillows as flat as pancakes, I could go on The only saving grace was the food, it was acceptable We have completed the survey but to date have heard nothing I would not recommend Lakeside to anyone

This is our local baker and they make wonderful healthy bread in all sorts of great nutritious flavours! My favourite is their sunflower bread, but I also love the combicorn too. I'm sure they have bread to suit all tastes though and I'd recommend them highly. As for their cakes… much too nice and much too tempting! Still, a little of what you fancy does you good they say, so as long as it's not too frequent then that should be fine :-) I can't recommend them highly enough, and no, I'm not getting paid to write this! Go visit, and you'll see for yourself!

My friends Mr & Mrs Cooper, together with my wife and I have visited Lakeside on several occasions in 2007, and 2008, We have always found the accomodation clean and tidy, It is not 4 or 5 Star, but more than suitable for a short break, the food is always of good quality, and the entertainment usually exceptional. It is central enough to enjoy trips out to other local towns, with involving long journeys.
