Good Points: Very charming. Room clean. Staff friendly. Food excellent Bad Points: Slug trail under table we sat at for dinner in the restaurant. Also, when we moved from this particular table to another, between the secondary double glazing and the original window we had to look at dead flies flaky paintwork and cobwebs. Not very nice when eating. which is a shame as the meal in itself was extremely good. General review: Enjoyed stay, just dissappointed with the state of the restaurant.

We found this hotel was not at all busy, even on a Friday night. The waitress that served dinner to our party of 10 was not at all pleasant. She was extremely "bossy" and abrupt with us. Her attitude was the same at breakfast. The room was not very warm, as well as being shabby and small. The beds were very narrow but comfortable. Would not stay here again.

My friend and myself were on the way back from a visit to Brighton and were looking for somewhere to eat on our way home. We called at the Roebuck and were very impressed with the overall look of the establishment and were looking forward to a lovely meal. We decided to eat in the bar area and on looking at the menu were told by the waitress that there was still some Roast Turkey left. As I love my Sunday Roast I decided to go for this, my partner opted for Lamb Shank. It was probably the worst Roast Dinner I have ever eaten and I've eat a few in my time. The Turkey was OK, but the rest was awful. The roast potatoes were luke warm and soggy the Yorkshires the same, the stuffing stodgy and cold and the same goes for the vegetables. On entering the Hotel I would not have thought if possible that you would serve a bad meal but I was wrong. The waitress should not have recommended the Roast Turkey, If it could not be served to your Customers as I am sure you would have liked. I did mention this to the Waiter when he was clearing our table and all we got in return was a free cup of coffee. Very disappointing first visit and I would not recommend it to any of my friends.
