Vale of Berkeley, Gloucestershire

The Vale of Berkeley is an area south of Gloucester and north of Bristol in the county of Gloucestershire, England. Laying between the River Severn and the Cotswold Edge , the vale is the location of the annual Frampton Country Fair held at the Frampton Court Estate. Berkeley Castle , a 12th century fortress and butterfly house, is located in the vale - as is Whitcliff Deer Park. The area is popular with walkers and there are many paths and planned routes spanning the area. A controversial wind farm consisting of four 120 meter high turbines is under consideration for the Vale of Berkeley.
