Long Mynd, Shropshire

The Long Mynd is an approximately seven mile long area of the South Shropshire hills in Shropshire, England. Owned by The National Trust since 1965, it is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Formed during the turbulent geology of the Pre-Cambrian area, it is shaped and scarred by deep canyons such as the Carding Mill Valley . Best known for its miles of challenging walks and hikes, it features various popular landmarks. One of the best of these is the Lightspout Waterfall, located just a short walk from the market town of Church Stretton in the Carding Mill Valley.
