Berkshire Downs, Berkshire | Oxfordshire
The Berkshire Downs are an area of chalk downland hills in the counties of Berkshire and Oxfordshire, in England. The Downs are located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and are the site of the famous Iron Age Uffington White Horse , a 110 meters long horse carved into the chalk. The Ridgeway National Trial, a pathway that dates back to the Iron Age , crosses the downs and is very popular with walkers. There is an Iron Age Fort located on the Berkshire Downs at Segsbury Camp. There are also a number of Roman and Bronze Age sites on the Berkshire Downs.
