Goring Gap, Berkshire

The Goring Gap is a geological feature that was formed by the action of the River Thames cutting through the hills in Berkshire, England. Located almost eight miles upstream from the town of Reading , the Goring Gap has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The villages of Goring and Streatley are located either side of the Gap, linked by a bridge. The area is very popular with walkers as both the Ridgeway and Thames long-distance paths are accessible there. The annual Goring & Streatley Regatta is held each year, hosted by the Goring Gap Boat Club .
