Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve is found near Wicken in Cambridgeshire, close to the famous cathedral city of Ely . Wicken Fen is one of Europe's most important wetlands and is home to a variety of wildlife. More than 8,000 species have made Wicken Fen their home including an array of plants, birds and dragonflies. The reserve is a good place for spotting hen harriers, water voles and bitterns. A flowering meadow, sedge and reed beds can all be accessed from the raised boardwalk and lush grass droves. The Wicken Fen Vision is a conservation project that aims to open up land for visitors to explore. The National Trust’s Highland cattle and Konik ponies are being used to help create a diverse range of new habitats.
