Greensand Ridge, Bedfordshire | Cambridgeshire

Greensand Ridge is an escarpment formed from clay, chalk and sand, located in the South-East of England in the counties of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. The area is home to the Greensand Ridge Walk, a long distance walk of almost 40 miles that opened in 1986. The walk begins in Leighton Buzzard and passes by historic buildings such as Northill Church, before ending in Gamlingay . The Ridge consists of a variety of heathland, woodland and grassland and is home to an array of wildlife including adders, green tiger beetles, woodpeckers and Muntjac deer as well as plant-life such as heather and bluebells.
