Dunwich Heath is on the Suffolk coast near Saxmundham . Tucked away on the North Sea coast, Dunwich Heath is a haven of peace and quiet as well as a rare and precious habitat. It is home to many special species including the Dartford warbler, nightjar, woodlark, ant-lion and the adder. Through late summer, from July to September, the heath bursts into colour as the pink and purple heather and coconut-scented yellow gorse all bloom. A waymarked nature trail has been established at the heath by the National Trust who have also provided a car park, a tea room and shop.
