Where: OVERBURY FARMS, Village Hall, Overbury Parking in The Close (Field in the centre of the village opposite the village hall)

Ewe flock lambing at Park Farm. Meet the people who care for and manage Bredon Hill. Lunch & Refreshments at the village hall. Please note that it is not advisable for any pregnant ladies to visit the lambing yards for health and safety reasons. There is no disabled access for the trailer, please contact us in advance.

For a fantastic family day out in April, why not come and join us for spring lambing here at Overbury Farms? This is the ninth year that we’ve opened our gates for the day, offering you the chance to take a peek behind the scenes.

At the Lambing Sheds at Park Farm, you’ll find our Farm Manager Jake Freestone and our Shepherd Tod Phillips keeping a close eye on the flock. With 1,000 expectant mothers due in April, there’s a good chance that at least a few will be “performing” on the day!

Of course the highlight is always the new arrivals, and there should be plenty of those in the sheds to keep everyone entertained, but we shouldn’t ignore the proud fathers either. You’ll have the chance to say hello to Hector, a young Ram in his first season here, who recently featured in a promotion for The Wool Room.

The Overbury Game Keeping team, led by Headkeeper Paul Gillett, will be at Park Farm with their wonderful display of all things wild and rural. Always a favourite with the children, you won’t find a greater breadth and depth of countryside knowledge in one place. (And there’s usually a four legged friend or two to win over any doubters!)

Park Farm can only be reached by tractor and trailer. Rides will depart frequently between 10am and 3pm and you can stay at the lambing sheds for as long as you wish. There will be a charge of £5 per adult, but no charge at all for children (all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult).

A proportion of the proceeds this year will go towards funding our Open Farm Sunday in June, and the rest to funding improvements in the Village Hall.

There will be free parking in “The Close” opposite the Village Hall. Refreshments will be available throughout the day (from 9.30am to 3.30pm) and we will be taking orders for our half and whole lamb packs – ideal for the freezer (we all fail to tell the difference between frozen and fresh – Overbury lamb always tastes delicious!)

Over 1,000 people joined us last year for what was a wonderful family day out. We hope you can be amongst them this April.
