Born 1619 - Prague. Died 1682 - English cavalry officer.

Nephew of Charles I. Served as Royalist soldier. Captured, acquitted by a court martial but banished from England by Parliament. Lived mainly in France until the Restoration. Served under Duke of York in Navy. Took part in founding of Hudson’s Bay Company (1670), one of founders of Royal Society.
