Studied engineering at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. Best known as the long-standing co-presenter of Channel 4 game show Countdown, first appearing in 1982 at the age of 21. Has worked as a researcher on many educational and scientific shows as well as presenting a number of shows including Tomorrow’s World, The Pride of Britain Awards since year 2000 and Stars and their Lives. Has written books on the Detox diet and has columns in The Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mirror.
