Todmorden is to be found in nestling in the countryside to the north of Rochdale in the County of Lancashire and with the River Calder, easy access to the railway line and the Rochdale canal it is easy to appreciate how much of an impact that the Industrial Revolution had in the town. As you wander through the town there are still examples everywhere of the Victorian architecture, the best example being the Unitarian Church which today is a Grade 1 Listed Building. Many of the original buildings have long since gone whilst others have now been converted into fashionable apartments. Today Todmorden provides a stunning countryside location, with plenty of local activities, a thriving market, antique and bookshops, there are plenty of trails around Todmorden for the keen walker the Calderdale Way, the Centenary Way and the Pennine Trail all offer the visitor and resident alike the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside.
