Balloch is a town in Argyll in Scotland situated within easy commuting distance from Glasgow on the southern shore of the beautiful Loch Lomond, Scotlands 1st National Park. With picturesque scenery, an abundance of wildlife and spectacular views of Ben Lomond, Balloch is an idyllic area and a popular tourist destination particularly for boating, out-door pursuits and nature-watching. Balloch Pier is home to the restored paddle steamer, the Maid of the Loch, with café, bar and shop. There are various boating and pleasure cruise sight-seeing tours on offer, other water activities include white-water-rafting, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, power-boating, water-skiing, wakeboarding and fishing, Land activities include shooting, off-roading, quad-bikes, archery, guided walks, climbing/abseiling, mountain-biking, hill-walking/mountaineering, orienteering, canyoning, skiing and snowboarding. Other attractions include the National Park Gateway Centre with details of the history and wildlife of the famous Loch and the surrounding area, The Loch Lomond Aquarium with many varieties of aquatic life from seahorses to sharks and the Birds of Prey Centre
