Uig is a Hebridean fishing village on the Isle Of Skye’s Trotternish Peninsular in Scotland. The village sprawls along the low lying hills around the Bay and Harbour that Ferry’s travel back and forth to Lochmaddy, and Tarbert. The village offers the chance to see the craftsmanship involved at Uig Pottery, or for a true insight into days long past why not visit the Skye Museum Of Island Life which has a magnificent collection of thatched dwellings and exhibits from an interesting time. A few miles away is 14th Century Duntulm Castle whose ruins rise from the rocks over looking the Minch. The light is bewitching for Artists and Photographers who linger at the Bay where the magical sights grace many a canvas. Why not take a voyage of discovery seawards where Dolphins, Whales, Otters, and even Sharks will please the soul. Or for a link with the past the High Stone Of Uig remains from a forgotten time. For a magical experience step over the bridge that spans the River Rha and follow the path journeying deep into the Glen, the sound of rushing water over ancient rocks is surpassed by the sight of the double Waterfall glistening in the sunlight.
