Betchworth is a pretty village that sits in Mole Valley on the banks of the River Mole in the leafy suburbs of Surrey, and is home to just over 900 people. A walk through the village up Church Street will lead you to the Church Of St Michael that is for the most part 13th Century, although there has been a church here for the last 900 years. Close by is the enchanting sprawling landscape around Box Hill which has been unashamedly enticing visitors to enjoy the countryside for decades. If that’s not enough of the great outdoors, then a trip to Priory Park that has been around since the 13th Century should please the most discerning visitor. History oozes from this area and The Old Mill, which is an impressive Windmill built in 1665 rises from the ground to an impressive 39’, add the fact that it still grinds flour today, the play area, and woodland that’s just waiting to be explored makes for a recipe for success. Or perhaps a round or two at Betchworth Park Golf Club is more for you, this idyllic course that is sheltered by the North Downs offers beautiful views of Box Hill, or look carefully and you will discover the 11th Century Castle Ruins overlooking the river…….
