A picturesque town which nestles against the side of the Chiltern Hills. Amongst its many charms is the 16th century Red Lion Pub - a former coaching inn whose guests included Oliver Cromwell and Sir Robert Louis Stevenson.

The focal point of the town is the Clock Tower built in 1842 and now home to the Parish Council Offices. Wendover boasts a fine array of eating places, providing a wide variety of local and international cuisine. Wendover is also quite well known for its antique shops.

The Ridgeway National Trail threads through the local countryside from nearby Coombe Hill and Wendover Woods and offers some of the most spectacular walks in the Vale. Population 7,000
