The rural idyll that is known as Rowington is set in the rolling countryside of Warwickshire conveniently set with easy access to Warwick, Stratford on Avon, Leamingotn Spa and Solihull. It is not a large village, the local population is around 900 people but it is set amongst some superb scenery, the Heart of England Way passes through Rowington and there are two canals close by with the ubiquitous narrowboats, fishermen and walkers all enjoying the local countryside. The church in Rowington is the St Laurence Church which dates back to the 12th century and stands within a dominant position within the village with its trade mark yew trees all perfectly clipped into dome shapes. The church rising above the village providing a picturesque backdrop to the village itself. However Rowington is probably best known for being home to Katherine Parr who lived at Rowington Hall before marrying Henry VIII (his sixth wife) and for the fact the William Shakespeare’s grandfather was born. Whilst the village is steeped in this sort of history it is easy to understand the appeal that Rowington holds today for residents and visitors alike.
