To the south of Leamington Spa and just beyond the M40 in Warwickshire lies the village of Barford. This village has, in the last few years, welcomed a new bypass that has eased traffic problems and in the course of the building of the bypass archaeologists found evidence of a settlement here dating back to the Bronze Age and further investigation revealed that this area had been populated for around 3,000 years. Barfod has through that period seen many changes, the new by pass alleviating traffic over the bridge which itself is a Grade II Listed structure spanning the River Avon is now open allowing villagers to once again enjoy the view across the bridge of the surrounding countryside in all its peacefulness. Close to Warwick castle and with some great views of the Stour Valley the village of Barford holds great deal of appeal to both the visitor and resident alike.
