Whimple is a small village in East Devon, home to over eleven hundred people, ideally positioned betwixt Honiton and the ancient city of Exeter, complete with stream and Apple Orchards that mix with the surrounding countryside. For a kaleidoscopic treat there's Escot Country Park whose deliciously planted gardens were the creation of Gertrude Jekyll, or possibly the flying prowess of the Birds of Prey will astound, or why not get lost in the Maze. Perhaps 19th Century Clyston Mill will unveil it's secret as it's still working today, for architecture on a grand scale Exeter Cathedral has imposing Norman Towers which command the skyline, inside gem coloured stained glass and the longest vaulted ceiling in England are only some of the reasons to visit this Medieval masterpiece. Younger visitors have the chance to meet 500 furry friends at the Donkey Sanctuary, or hold on tight during the thrilling rides at Crealy Park, or will meeting the animals be top of the list. Budding explorers will be eager to don their hard hat and journey through Exeter's Underground Passages, or for 1950's all the way take a peep at Budlake Old Post office, which reverses time in a lick of a stamp.
