Talaton is a small attractive village near the River Tale in East Devon, home to over five hundred people. There are many delights to savour whether it’s thatched cottages that please artists and photographers alike, or the alluring countryside waiting to be explored, whatever the wish it’s sure to be granted. Nearby Escot Gardens & Maze has woodland walks and friendly critters in Pets Corner, or perhaps the soaring Birds Of Prey will be favourite. Of course there are the five hundred furry reasons which might tempt a visit to The Donkey Sanctuary, or if thrills are desired then maybe Crealy Park will deliver toe curling rides, smaller visitors even have a chance to milk a cow. For a link with the past 19th Century Clyston Mill shows the skill needed to produce fine flour, or possibly All Hallows Museum will uncover secrets of lace making, time it right and see nimble fingers working on intricate lace, there’s also pottery and evocative exhibits from both world wars on display. Or how about 18th Century Coldharbour Mill, which extends an invite to see the looms in action . Or why not test those nerves and climb aboard a Polaris, Eton Viper or Raptor at nearby Quad World.
