Beach huts and ice cream pedalos and parasols.

Occupying the central third of the Bay, most of Paignton town is compact and level, with the Esplanade, miles of sandy beaches, the pier and harbour all within easy reach.
Brightly coloured villas line the Esplanade and provide a strong reminder of days gone by. Paignton Pier - which was originally built for Victorian promenaders - completes the picture with cafés and amusements through the day and evening.
And, of course, much of life in this town revolves around the seafront. With its long sandy beaches, colourful atmosphere and safe paddling and swimming, it is a true family resort. Right next to the beach is Paignton Green where many events are staged throughout the year and games of cricket, football and rounders are often the order of the day.

There is a wide variety of accommodation in Paignton. Guest houses and hotels can be found near the beaches and the area is particularly popular for self catering holidays and has some of the region's best holiday parks. Plenty of attractions within close reach will also keep you and the family entertained, including Paignton Zoo, the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway and the open-air water park with half a mile of water slides at the Quaywest Beach Resort.
