Ivybridge is a small Devonshire town in the South Hams set on the banks of the River Erme. Once a thriving Mill Town that dates back to the 13th Century is now home to over twelve thousand people. Positioned on the edge of Dartmoor National Park ensures walkers and cyclists are kept busy with the added chance to discover the Erme Valley Trail. Artists follow in the footprints of Turner as they try to capture the Medieval bridge the town was named after. Perhaps the thought of fabulous surroundings will tempt a visit to Dartmoor Zoological Park where encounters of the animal kind is sure to please, or there is always the enchanting Buckfast Butterfly and Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary, or maybe the Eagles, animals, Go Karts, and Train Rides on offer at Pennywell Farm will be one temptation not easy to resist. Why not rewind the hands of time with a visit to the Benedictine Monks at Buckfast Abbey, where an unforgettable tour will unveil an intriguing history, or perhaps the Georgian elegance on offer at Saltram House will be just the thing, where scintillating treasures and opulent interiors created by Robert Adam mingle with bewitching grounds, Riverside walks and woodland.
