Exminster is a large village in Devon dating back to Saxon times, positioned at the southern edge of Exeter, home to over three thousand people. History oozes from every inch at nearby Powderham Castle where it’s Medieval legacy is shared during a tour around the fascinating rooms and secret garden, be prepared to be amazed with the flying prowess of the Birds Of Prey, or climb aboard the Tractor for a ride in the Deer Park. For those who fancy a flutter maybe Exeter Race Course will be a firm favourite. An opportunity to catch a curtain call at Barnfield Theatre should be taken to ensure a view of the entertaining shows, or possibly the fascinating story waiting to be shared at St Nicholas Priory will please, this former Benedictine Priory is now a showcase of an Elizabethan House. For majestic architecture with Norman Towers that dominate the skyline it has to be Exeter Cathedral. Or if the promise of a glass or two after a tour sounds tempting then call in to Manstree Vineyard. If that all sounds a little tame don a hard hat and explore the Medieval Underground Passages where the unforgettable tour of the dark vaulted passageways will always be remembered.
