Churston is a Coastal village on the English Riviera in Devon, with fine beaches and sandy coves cloaked by cliffs. The church of St Mary The Virgin is an interesting interlude so follow in Agatha Christies’ footsteps who often visited here. Or for an insight into the elegant age of Steam Travel climb aboard the Paignton and Dartmouth Railway which stops at Churston before continuing it’s travels through stunning countryside, with unforgettable views of coastline, across Hookhills and Broadsands two majestic examples of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s building prowess..…. Or perhaps gliding along the River Dart in a Pleasure Craft is more for you. Reverse time by centuries with a visit to Dartmouth Castle which stands ever watchful over the River Dart, or there is Compton Castle which would grace any fairy story, built in the 14th Century has an intriguing history. Set within enchanting grounds complete with turrets, towers, portcullis this Medieval wonder even has a Rose Garden that fills the air with intoxicating scents. For younger visitors Brixham Aquarium has interesting creatures on offer , or perhaps Paignton Zoo will capture their hearts with a massive collection of animals and a chance to see the Crocodile Swamp and all who lurk there…………
