Beer is an ancient fishing village in Devon, home to over thirteen hundred people. This enchanting coastal village has a stream gently flowing through the high street, and the pages of history are turned with an intriguing story to tell, from Dinosaurs, Romans, and Smugglers like Jack Rattenbury who brought ashore his contraband..……. The village famed for it’s fishing and delicate lace making, has a delightful beach cloaked by green topped cliffs, where the temptation to hire a boat, take a cruise along the coast, or even trying to hook a Mackerel will perhaps only be surpassed by the cliff top walks where the sparkling blue sea meets sky……a walk to Branscombe will showcase thatch cottages, a Smithy dating back to Norman times,working Forge, and an old Bakery. Explorers and the curious will have a busy time from discovering the Quarry Caves where unforgettable memories are made. Perhaps the Motoring Memories Museum set within the old Filling Station will please, or how about the Miniature Railway at Pecorama, Dinosaur Land will share an insight into times long past with their Fossil Museum……or if the thought of meeting 4oo donkeys is a wish The Donkey Sanctuary will soon grant it.
