Beaworthy is a small village situated in North West Devon, home to two hundred and thirty people. The village has a delightful 14th Century church although mostly rebuilt in the 1800’s….There are many interesting places nearby, the hardest thing is what to do first. For a glimpse at Mother Nature’s palette of colours a trip to Winsford Walled Garden will dazzle as the kaleidoscope of plants unfurl like a precious carpet, the scents linger in the Herb Garden, and the Victorian Greenhouses link with the past….. If an 11th Century Castle evokes visions of Damsels and Knights then Oakhampton Castle stands ever watchful above a fast flowing river, although the Damsels and Knights have long since gone there are woodland walks to enjoy and a chance to pic nic by the river… For an insight into the history of nearby Holsworthy step inside the Museum and share their intriguing exhibits……..or perhaps the Museum Of Dartmoor Life will explain the way of life in times past, all set within a 19th Century Mill. For a dash of mystery Dartmoor Prison Museum unlocks a fascinating story, or climb aboard a Steam Locomotive at Launceston Steam Railway and experience the golden age of travel.
