Romsey is a prosperous market town situated on the banks of the River Test, providing a gateway to the world famous New Forest. The pretty medieval streets and walkways are a delight to explore throughout the year and are clustered around the magnificent Norman Abbey which dominates the town and hosts a varied programme of music concerts throughout the year. Nearby is the Palladian house of Broadlands with its extensive parklands and fishing lakes, now the home of Lord Romsey, grandson of the late Lord Mountbatten. Throughout the year the estate hosts a range of craft shows, concerts and events. You can also try fishing on the River Test at Romsey Memorial Park or simply relax and enjoy its calm and tranquil waters. Alternatively, splash about in the swirling leisure pools of the Rapids of Romsey.
