The village of Crondall is near the town of Farnham in Hampshire close to the borders of Berkshire and Surrey, and is to be found just off the A287, Farnham Road. Set amongst the rolling hills of Hampshire the village can trace its history back to Roman times but it is its rich agricultural heritage that Crondall is best known for. It was responsible for the production of osier as used in basket weaving, with Farnborough close by it was also used for balloon baskets, the area also produced local hops as the area was famed, up until the war, for its local beer. The town today echoes its past with many fine buildings, All Saints Church, a 12th century Norman parish that was erected in place of an earlier Saxon church – the font dating from the Saxon period whilst the cottages and old houses are well preserved examples of an era long gone and the local pub being as fine an example of Tudor architecture to be found. For both the tourist and visitor Crondall has plenty to offer with good local amenities, easy access to the motorway network and the rolling countryside of Hampshire as a backdrop.
