Peel

A ruined castle dominates this west-coast fishing town, but the island's most wonderful secret is the view from the rocks behind the castle, which descend to the water in a long series of "steps". You can clamber down so far as to be totally alone, gazing out over the vast expanses of the Irish Sea with the castle walls towering behind you. Bliss - Carol

When you're visiting, don't forget to pick up a pack of Peel's freshly smoked Manx kippers to take home as a souvenir - Carol

Ramsey

Ramsey is a delightful seaside town positioned on the northern edge of the Isle Of Man which sits in the Irish Sea, only sixteen miles from the shores of Scotland. It has an enchanting harbour which is lined with attractive buildings, bustling with activity from colourful yachts and boats, and sugar soft sandy beaches which are perfectly placed on either side of the harbour, and there are shops and restaurants in plentiful supply in Victoria Mall and St. Paul's Square. The fascinating history oozes from every inch, where the legacy of Celts, Norman's, and Vikings can still be found, impressive Ramsey Bay has stunning views and has seen many visitors, Robert The Bruce in 1313, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert who arrived unexpectedly in 1847, and when Prince Albert climbed the hills nearby and admired the fabulous views, the Islanders marked the occasion by erecting Albert Tower, fashioned from granite and rising some 45'. Ramsey is the second largest town on the isle of Man home to over seven thousand three hundred people and is linked to the largest town, Douglas by an electric railway. Mesmeric views at every turn entice visitors to this enchanting town that rests beneath the North Barrule Hills, renowned for it's ship building, and local mining activity of Copper, and Lead today promises a treasure chest of wonders just waiting to be shared.- Sharon
