Bray
Bray is a delightful village on the banks of the Thames just outside Maidenhead. Famed for its "mad Vicar" in the past it is now known for the incredibly expensive property and its world renowned restaurant - The Fat Duck - which, under the supreme guidance of Heston Blumental, has won the "best restaurant in the world".
Charvil
Charvil is located in the heart of the Thames Valley, close to both Reading and Maidenhead. People have settled here for at least 4,000 years and until the main A4 was built it was on the main London to Bath road and therefore an important stopping off point. Goring on Thames
There are several beautiful weirs across the R. Thames that widens at this point. The weirs can be seen fully as you walk or drive over the main bridge linking Goring & Streatley. Do take a walk down-stream on the Goring side of the river tow-path.
Newbury
The Living Rainforest.At Hampstead Norreys, Berkshire – The Eden Project on a small scale. Birds, lizards & butterflies freely roam, there are dwarf crocodiles, giant lily pads, Goeldis monkeys & much more – a charity well worth a look, open all year round & you can adopt an animal! - Carolyn
Reading

Traffic here is ludicrous. Avoid generally, but if you have to you will get caught up in the monstrous one-way system inner ring road (known as IDR)! And if you don’t know where you’re going, you might miss the actual shopping centre – sounds silly but believe me it’s possible!!!!! - Cathryn
Streatley on Thames

The Chiltern Ridgeway, Streatley, Berks
Follow the B4009 up Streatley Hill, at the top is a small car-park from which you can walk along the Downs & see the river valley – the views are to die for! - Elias

The Long Walk through Windsor Great Park, is probably the best part to begin your exploration of Windsor. From Snow Hill [reputedly the place where Henry the Eighth sat, on horseback, waiting for the canons to fire from the Tower of London, signalling the successful execution of Anne Boleyn] where George the Fourth's great monument to his father, George the Third, crowns its summit..down the 3miles through beautiful woodland with great views of the Castle, until you reach the Castle gates, which front the huge towers of the George the Fourth Gateway - Peter
