Nestling in unspoilt Teesdale countryside, the historic village of Bowes is the delightful backdrop for this traditional, cosy cottage, conveniently located beside the village's 16th century coaching inn. The village is clustered round a Norman castle, itself built on the site of a Roman fort, and is ideally located for walkers of all abilities – both the Pennine and Teesdale Ways are close by, whilst the beautiful landscape of Swaledale is a short drive. Bowes Museum and the spectacular High Force waterfalls are within easy reach and the cobbled streets and ancient ruins of the medieval market town of Barnard Castle lie just 4½ miles away. Walking, riding, golf and fishing are enjoyed locally. Shops 200 yards.
