A quintessential 17th Century Inn set in an area of outstanding natural beauty; at the bottom of a steep valley next to Bow Creek and bridge. The Inn has been used as a smithy; a brew house; petrol station; a prison and a haunt for the feared press gangs. The area was recorded in the doomsday book. Built in the 17th-century Watermans Arms; overlooking tinkling Bow Creek; near Tuckenhay. Hidden away at the bottom of a steep valley; the streamside tables are perfect for savouring a pint of the fine Palmers Copper Ale. The lunches; sourced from local suppliers and served under an outdoor awning; attract foodies from as far away as Exeter and Plymouth. Golfing; fishing and walking are just a few of the hundreds of opportunities for outdoor adventure whilst staying at The Waterman's Arms. We have 7 top class golf courses just a short car ride from us and if you let us know that you are wishing to play we can assist you with all the necessary arrangements; stocked lakes to fly fish and miles of tranquil rivers where you can laze away hours in the hazy afternoon sun. Being close to the stunning Devon coast opens up no only the chance to walk a part of the beautiful and awe-inspiring Southwest Coastal Footpath but offers fishing both onshore and off one of the many wrecks that litter our shoreline.
