The Bateman Arms is an 18th Century; three storey coaching inn situated in the small village of Shobdon in the unspoilt County of Herefordshire; just a few miles from the Welsh Border. There's plenty to do to revive your spirits. Historic houses; local museums; a visit to castle ruins - an evocative reminder of early border strife - gardens range from the delights of the traditional cottage garden to formal gardens with statuary and flowing water in a country house setting. Families are especially welcome in Herefordshire with a wealth of interesting animals and birds to visit and activities to enjoy.The Inn itself offers a wealth of character; you can sit in the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the bar; with its oak beams and large fireplace; where we serve a selection of light meals. Alternatively you can eat in our restaurant; which offers a menu of locally produced and sourced dishes.Please Note: We are a Non-smoking accommodation. Pets are welcome on the premises.
